In a bold stride towards empowering the next generation of energy professionals and strategically engaging youth in national development, the MEMAN Competency Centre in collaboration with Yaba College of Technology hosted a Youth Enlightenment Program themed “Empowering the Future: MEMAN Youth Energy & Career Engagement” on Friday, 27th June 2025 at the Yusuf Grilli Auditorium, Yaba College of Technology.

The event, which drew participation from students, academics, and industry stakeholders, was graced by distinguished thought leaders and energy executives. The Chief Host, Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun, Rector of Yaba College of Technology, provided opening remarks, affirming the institution’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic training and industry expectations. Dr. E.J.A. Akinwale, Director of the Career Development Centre, served as the Host, anchoring the program with purpose-driven engagements and context for the career relevance of the energy sector.

Key insights were delivered by the Guest Speakers, including Mr. Huub Stokman, CEO of NNPC Retail Ltd and Chairman of MEMAN, and Engr. Ibrahim Bamgbopa, Group Executive GM Asset and Project Management, Ardova PLC. Both speakers shared strategic perspectives on the global and local energy landscapes, highlighting emerging opportunities, technology shifts, sustainability challenges, and the critical skills needed to thrive in the sector.
