Yabatech Canvasses For Poverty Alleviation In Africa

In order to drastically eradicate the menace of poverty in Nigeria and Africa at large, the School of Management and Business Studies (SMBS) of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) organized its maiden international conference titled “Achieving Poverty Eradication for Sustainable Development in Africa”.

During the opening ceremony of the 5 day conference, the head of the institution, Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe hinted strongly that the conference will assist in eradicating the danger of poverty in Nigeria and beyond.
According to him, I believe that that the conference will attract a convergence of experts, knowledge seeking professionals who will succinctly address the menace of poverty in our nation and globally. I have no doubt that at the end of the conference, the school and indeed the College will make significant contributions to assist in policy recommendations.
The opening ceremony also featured Keynote Address by Mrs. Bunmi Lawson who disclosed her passion for eradicating poverty in the last 20 years.
The lead paper presenter Dr. Olanrewaju Sharafa urged the participants to key into the dreams of the sustainable development goals in alleviating poverty.
