Yaba College Of Technology Emerges As Semi Finalist At The Science And Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC) Competition

Ntah Frankline and Dogban Makanjuola of the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering of School of Engineering - Yaba College of Technology represented the College at the Science and Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC) and emerged as Semifinalist at the Regional Stage of the competition which was held at the Covenant University on Tuesday - 11th May, 2021.



Engr. (Mrs.) Ladipo, O.I  supervised and guided the students as their faculty guide on the project and as a team, they developed a Farm intelligent system for food security. The solution is an AI powered crop protection and management app with the aim of increasing crop yield.



The team is eternally grateful for the huge support and  assistance received from the Rector, Engr. Femi Omokungbe, Deputy Rector Admin, Dr. Titilayo A. Ukabam,  the Dean of School of Engineering, Dr. Mobolaji Onasanya and the Head of Department, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engr. T.O Koledoye.



Also, we are indebted to the College's Center for Information Technology and Management for the technical expertise towards the programming and software development of the project. The Director, Dr. Oyeranmi Adigun, Mr. Segun Oladipo and Mr. Shuaib Bashiru were exceedingly resourceful and their positive contribution is worthy of emulation.



The Science and Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC) is a novel entrepreneurship development program by the Nigerian Content Development and Management Board (NDCMB) and implemented by Enactus Nigeria. The competition is intended to challenge all students of accredited Nigerian tertiary institutions, to apply science, technology and innovation to finding home-grown solutions to everyday problems across all sectors of the economy.
