Awareness And Precautionary Measures Against Lassa Fever And Corona Virus Infections

LASSA FEVER:

When you find a dead rat in your house, don’t pick it with bare hands. The blood and bodily fluid of a living/dead rat can infect you.
Use gloves to pick any living or dead rat you find in your house and bury it safely or burn it totally. Don’t dispose rats anyhow and anywhere.
Keep your kitchen and homes clean. Avoid conditions that could attract rats.
Lassa fever is spread by contact through urine and feaces of infected rats and rodents. It may be house rats or bush rats.
Store food in containers with lids.
Cook all foods thoroughly.


CORONAVIRUS INFECTION:

Personal Hygiene is very important.
i. Regular hand washing.
ii. Use of sanitizer is highly recommended.
iii. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Keep your throat moist, do not let your throat dry up. The virus can invade dry throat membrane within 10 minutes.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
