YABATECH TO REPLICATE COMPUTER VILLAGE IN EPE CAMPUS

The Rector, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul in his passion to develop the College Epe Campus has vowed to replicate the likes of Ikeja Computer Village at its Epe campus due to the passion he has for the Epe campus.



He made the disclosure at a crucial meeting with the community leaders and elders of Odoragushin Community in Epe at the palace home of the Otedolas and in the presence of the matriarch of the Otedolas Lady Doja Otedola during the College management’s second visit to the community for quality assurance of his administration ERECT Agenda sincerity.



Engr. Abdul, whom, Lady Doja Otedola declared to the entire Community as her adopted son with natural love for him from God, noted that the future of YABATECH is in Epe Campus, that is why the management is focusing on replicating Computer village in Odorangunshin to compliment and expand the existing vocational skill centres with certification.



He assured the community leaders that there will be continuous training of people and preference will be given to the youths of the community on how to repair phones, sales of phones, after sales services and other areas of information communication technology under the national Board of Technical Edu action’s Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).



He disclosed that YABATECH is having a collaboration with Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), on the act of repairing phones, and after the training, certified trainees will be equipped with tools to work with free of charge as this has been done in Lagos, the opportunity will be extended to Epe community at large.



The Rector hinted that to ease the admission burden of Epe youth the Foundation School will be constituted in Epe campus as well, that will enroll the secondary school holders through which they will gain admission into the school automatically.



Abdul pledged that YABATECH is ready to do the needful that is yet to be done, to fulfill the promises made before now, to have a good and cordial relationship with Odorangunshi town and Epe community, and to contribute its own quota to its development.



Present at the meeting were Lady Doja Otedola; Olisa of Odorangunshi who is also the regent, Chief Tiamiyu Kamorudeen, Baba Adinni of Odorangunshi, Alhaji Adenola, and the Chairman of Odorangunshi Community Development Area, Alhaji R.E. Ambali.



Alhaji Ambali who spoke on behalf of Odorangunshi community said that YABATECH should reciprocate the good gesture of Otedola’s family and the Community  for giving the College land free of charge to the community.



He explained further that the indigenes of Odorangunshi should be considered in term of admission, substantial appointment, and other benefits that will delight the community and engender harmonious relationship between the College and the community.



Lady Otedola who cannot hide her likeness for the Rector, buttressed the point raised by Alhaji Ambali that the College should have a developmental program for the Epe youth.



She was very proud of YABATECH students in Epe campus for their dedication to studies; to the things of God, their commitments in Mosques and churches and for being well behaved young men and women which is a testament that the college is actually brewing them to be worthy in character and learning as contained in the Rector’s ERECT Agenda made known to the community leaders.
