OVER 100 YABATECH STAKEHOLDERS PLAN FIVE YEARS RENEWED HOPE DOCUMENTS FOR THE COLLEGE

Over a hundred stakeholders of Yaba College of Technology were at the weekend brainstorm to carve out a five year strategic plan of a renewed hope of consolidating and erecting a future for the seventy-six years old foremost tertiary institution in Nigeria.



The stakeholders embraced teaching, non-teaching staff, staff unions, students, management and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as participants under the aegis of MSCI Partners.



In a resolute declaration of the College of commitment to excellence, the Rector, Dr. (Engr) Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul urged the participants to unite in shaping the institution's future for a renewed hope in line with the agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria on education.



The Rector made the clarion call at the  three days strategic plan retreat, held at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, organised by the Institution to bring out a five year working document for the college covering year 2024- 2028.



Dr Abdul emphasized an unprecedented heights of achievements and the significance of the strategic plan as a guiding beacon for the college's developmental trajectory.



"Our strategic plan is more than a mere document; it is the compass by which we navigate towards our collective vision of innovation and excellence," he remarked.



Highlighting the imperative for resilience and inclusivity, Dr. Abdul articulated the strategic plan's mandate to encapsulate the collective aspirations and concerted efforts of all stakeholders.



 "This plan must mirror our shared commitment to progress and embody the aspirations of our entire community," he asserted.



In enhancing the global standing and branding of the Premier college, the Rector called for the cultivation of a workforce equipped with requisite skills and market relevance.



"Our collective endeavor must be to elevate our college's global ranking by equipping our graduates with the skills demanded by the contemporary labour market," he asserted.



In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Strategic Plan Committee, Dr Ismail Badmus urged stakeholders to anticipate the formulation of a strategic roadmap that not only reflects the core values of Yabatech but also heralds a new era of innovation, distinction, and service excellence.



Dr Badmus implored participants to put all hands on deck as the retreat was set towards charting a new course for the premier institution.



Speaking at the retreat, the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Prof Idris Bugaje lauded the new course the college has chatted declaring is as timely.



The Executive Secretary who was represented by the NBTE Director, South West Zone, Mr Ayo Aroge, stated that the present situation necessitated a need for a strategic plan which will guide the college on its path to greater success.



He, therefore, called on the entire College Community to jointly lift the College to greater heights.



At the closing ceremonies, the entire stakeholders eulogies the Rector and Management for embarking on a strategic plan of five years for the college as a rewarding exercise.

He implored the stakeholders to work on the implementation of the plan after the blueprint documents finally ready..
