YABATECH TO FLOAT TV STATION…APPROACHES NBC

Yaba College of Technology has approached the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) signifying her interest to own and operate a television station to enhance the training of students in her departments of communication and media skills.



The Rector, Engr. Ibraheem Abdul, disclosed this during a courtesy visit paid to the College by the new Zonal Director of the NBC, Mr. Raphael Akpan.



He sought the support of the NBC at acquiring a television station licensing having made a landmark achievements on the running of a radio station without defaulting on the rules set by the NBC and the college endeavors at breaking a new ground in the line of teaching and learning to produce graduates that can compete favorably with their counterparts in the field of work, globally, with an on hand experience.



This exciting development signals a new era for Yabatech Radio, as it embarks on a journey towards expanding its reach and impact. With the support of the NBC Lagos, the College is poised to make even greater strides in the broadcasting realm, the Rector stated.



This visit, Engr Abdul added will serve as a reminder of the collaborative efforts between Yaba College of Technology and the National Broadcasting Commission towards developing a formidable synergy at ensuring Yaba Radio station carries out her duties with utmost excellence.



He pledged that the Radio Station will continue to uphold the guidelines and regulations lay down by the Commission and will support new initiatives towards improving the sector.



The Zonal Director of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Lagos, in his response, commended the college management and the Radio Station board, expressing his delight cum admiration on Yabatech's remarkable achievements in the media industry.



Mr. Akpan lauded Yabatech exemplary role in the media landscape with a pledge of the zone’s unwavering support in assisting the College at acquiring her television license.



This, he said, is an indication of the Commission’s recognition of Yabatech's significant contributions to the broadcasting sector and dedication to fostering its growth.



The Zonal Director reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to protecting the rights and interests of its licensees and pledged its unwavering support to the Yabatech Radio to enhance seamless operations.
