FAGBEMI PRESENTS THE NEW RECTOR TO YABATECH COMMUNITY

The Chairman of Governing Council, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN recently presented the 7th Indigenous Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Rector, Dr. (Engr.) Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul to the staff and students of the institution..

The New Rector whose appointment letter was signed by the former President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, and presented to him by the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu on Sunday, May 21, 2023 was full of thanks to God for the exalted position.

In his inauguration address, Fagbemi declared that Yabatech Community has looked forward to this historic renewal following the exit of the immediate past Rector at the end of his tenure in January 2023. This inauguration ceremony of Dr. Abdul as the Rector of YABATECH, therefore, marks a new beginning for the College. A new beginning that is full of hope for brighter days ahead, for progress and development and a greater YABATECH. It is my expectation that all stakeholders in the College will lend their unreserved support to the Rector and the College Management in the interest of the College as progress and development of any institution is a collective responsibility of all persons involved.

According to him, the Rector is one of you; he is therefore familiar with the challenges, the achievements and the aspirations of the College. However, an individual effort can achieve very little while much can be achieved by a team work. May I respectfully urge you all to rally round the Rector with your ideas, expertise, and contributions as well as avail him your strong support in the effort to attain a rapid development for the College.

He congratulated the Rector for a well-deserved appointment having gone through the rigorous process, he wished him guidance of the Almighty, good health and wisdom to accomplish the task of the office.

“May I remind you that this appointment is not by accident. It is in accordance with the will of the Almighty as the contest for the post involved many other candidates. It is therefore a responsibility you bear, that your actions in all your endeavours, while in this office, you must reflect this privilege you have been granted. You should discharge your duties with respect for the rules and regulations to ensure fairness and justice at all times, pay attention to staff and students welfare and uphold best practices in all you do”.

The Council Chairman thanked the Deputy Rector Admin, Mr. Uduak Inyang Udoh who stood in gap for the College as the Acting Rector from January 30, 2023 to May 20, 2023. Udoh put his remarkable and towering skills at the disposal of the College, and exhibited his talent and served the College faithfully and diligently to the admiration of all. He recognized his invaluable contributions and service to the College as well as his administrative skills that kept the College in a very stable and peaceful state. He expressed deep gratitude for his unassuming posture that endeared him to the Council and the College community. He was indeed grateful for Udoh’s leadership and commitment to the development of the College.

He therefore pledged that the Council has remained and will continue with its unshaken commitment and unyielding responsibility to support, stabilize and strengthen the administration of the College. The Council will equally partner with the Rector and the College Management in all areas of development within the confines of the provision of the law.

In response, the brand new Rector, Dr. (Engr.) Adedotun Abdul thanked the former President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Chairman, Governing Council, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, and Distinguished Council members for founding him worthy of the position and for appointing him as the Rector of the foremost institution in Nigeria.

“I stand before you today with great humility and gratitude to the Almighty God as I accept the honour of serving as the new Rector of this esteemed College. I am deeply honoured to have been chosen for this important role, and I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that this College continues to be a beacon of excellence, innovation and progress.”

“On this note, I once again thank the Governing Council Chairman and distinguished members for the confidence reposed in me by this appointment. I want to give the assurance that my administration will be result oriented. The Management will focus on development and growth, and with the support of the Council, Management, Staff and Students we will arrive at desired destination.”
