My research interests involve environmental monitoring/assessment of pollutants. I leverage on quantitative and qualitative data for the assessment/ monitoring and reduction of pollutants in environmental matrices. I have also led numerous research studies and I was co-investigator on the e-waste project IUPAC (more information at http://bit. ly/2n3QOh7). The project brings together multidisciplinary global expertise to explore different aspects of the e-waste challenge.

Profile

I joined the services of Yaba College of Technology as lecturer III in February 2000 and rose to the position of a Chief Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Science in 2016. I was transferred to the Department of Science Laboratory Technology as Head of Department in August, 2019.

I have a B.Sc in Chemistry from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye Ogun State in 1991, M.Sc in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Ibadan (1995), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Mgt. & Toxicology from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State in 2010.

I have co-authored four chemistry textbooks and have over 30 journal articles in both National and International journals to my credit. My most recent journal in 2019 is the Levels of Awareness and Concentrations of Heavy Metals in the Blood of Electronic Waste Scavengers in Nigeria, Journal of Health & Pollution Vol. 9, No. 21. I have delivered almost 50 papers at National and International conferences.

I have co-supervised M.Sc and Ph.D thesis at the University of Venda, South Africa and Middlesex University, London, UK. I was an external examiner at the several Polytechnic Institutions in Nigeria, University of Venda, Thohoyandu, Limpopo, South Africa etc. I am the founding Editor–in-chief, International Journal of Science and Society, Yabatech and associate Editors to several journals. I am currently an LOC a member CSN/IUPAC CHEMDRAWN Africa e-waste Workshop2020 and a member of the Chemistry and Environment (Division VI) of IUPAC.

I am presently the coordinator of over 500 member, Women in Technical Education and Employment, (WITED), Yaba College of Technology Chapter. I am a fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria FCSN, member, Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (MIPAN) and member, Society for Environmental Toxicology & Pollution Mitigation.

My teaching experience prioritizes an open dialogue with students, attention to detail, and the rigorous pursuit of inculcating the concept of research in chemistry to my students. I am known for my thoughtful integrity, exceptional leadership, supporting the ideas and ambitions of other and empowering my students and colleagues to realize their goals.

I have served in several committees outside my primary Institution. I am a member, Advisory/Technical Committee, National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) Lagos Centre under The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. I was head, School Board, Christ Redeemers School (RCCG), Adonia Worship Centre, Yaba amongst others.
